how to settle your tax debt for less than you owe

Check out our Newest Tax Guide!

We recently released a new tax guide designed to show you how to settle your IRS tax debt for less than you owe.

Inside we’ll cover:

  • The top 3 ways to resolve your tax debt for less
      • CNC Status (Currently not Collectible)
      • OIC (Offer in Compromise)
      • PPIA (Partial pay installment agreement)
  • How to implement each method
  • The pros and cons of each
  • How to qualify
  • Appeals
  • And much more!

Our Simple Process

Our 3-phrase process involves getting to know you and your case so we can resolve it in the most beneficial way possible.

Phase 1
Tax Case Review

Start Here.
First we will review your situation and see where you stand. We will talk with you to see what types of debt you have, from what time periods, and what letter or notices you have received from the IRS.

Phase 2
Tax Settlement and Financial Analysis

Deep Dive.
This is where we will get into the nitty gritty details. We dive into your IRS transcripts and evaluate your financial condition to determine what tax resolution pathways you qualify for and which is your best option.

Phase 3
Tax Debt Resolution

Resolution.
Here we either settle your tax debt for less than you owe, get you in currently non-collectible status, or set up an installment agreement. If the IRS doesn't agree to our terms, we are more than happy to argue your case in front of the IRS appeals division to get the best result for you.

We pride ourselves on providing friendly service and quality work at competitive prices.

owe $10k or more in back taxes to the IRS?

have 1 or more years of un-filed tax returns?

We can help.

Step by Step Guide to Tax Resolution

Here are the required steps to resolve your tax debt, broken down in more detail so you know what to expect along the journey.

Step 1

Tax Case Review

Book your FREE initial Tax Case Review so that we can learn about your situation and special circumstances.

Here we will get a high-level overview of what’s going on with your case so we can determine what the best next step is for you.

Step 2

Investigation of Liability

Here we will pull your IRS transcripts to review all the details about your tax case including:

Step 3

Financial Analysis

Here we will collect information from you in order to essentially compile a complete financial statement. This includes your net monthy income and a balance sheet of all assets you own.

This information is required to apply for or be granted certain IRS resolutions options. Plus we need it to determine which options you qualify for and which resolution path is best/most advantageous for your situation.

Step 4

Seek Debt Resolution

Now that we have a complete picture of your case we will make a determination of which resolution options you qualify for and which to pursue first.

We will prepare an offer to present to the IRS for approval which will include your complete financial package.

Then we will work with your assigned IRS Officer to settle your back taxes.

Step 5

Appeal

If the IRS does not accept our offer, we will appeal the decision and fight the IRS on your behalf.

A lot of tax cases are settled in appeals so this is not uncommon, and surprisingly this can be your best pathway to tax settlement.

Step 6

Monitor

Once your tax debt has been resolved, we can monitor your account to ensure continued compliance with IRS requirements. This allows us to be notified of new notices from the IRS regarding your account.

Monitoring is an essential part of the process, as most IRS resolution options require your account to remain in good standing for a period of many years.

If you fall behind on tax payments, or fail to file or pay, the IRS can revoke your tax settlement and undo all the work we have done.

In order to avoid this we can monitor your account with the IRS, ensure you are making any required payments, and prepare and file your tax returns.
